City DepEd prioritizes repair of damaged classrooms

THE rehabilitation of 8 public schools in Tagbilaran City which incurred damage due to Typhoon Odette will be given priority this year. Repair and rehabilitation of Cabawan Elementary School, City East Elementary School, Mansasa Elementary School, Tagbilaran City Central Elementary School, including its SPED Center, Taloto Elementary School, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School, and Tagbilaran City Science High School will be done. It will also include the repair of 55 classrooms and replacement of 16 classrooms in City East Elementary School and Tagbilaran City Central Elementary School.

The Gulayan sa Paaralan will also be expanded this year. Additional funding will be poured to the construction of Bahay Kubo for 24 schools, along with procurement of shredder and vermiculture house for selected schools will be made. The School Based Feeding Program will also target to reach 2,320 beneficiaries in 2022.

The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) aspect of the City DepEd will also be given priority. Emergency Preparedness Kits will be procured.

Various DRRM Activities will also be held to capacitate both the teachers and students. The printing and distribution of Information Education Campaign posters and procurement and distribution of thermal scanners are also lined up.  

A Division DRRM Planning Workshop and Conference is also scheduled this year. Printing and distribution of COVID-10 IEC materials for Division and Schools, purchase and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and supplies for the disinfection of DepEd buildings and facilities are all included in the plan.   

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) will also be prioritized with the conduct of livelihood trainings. There will also be a Computerization Program for 10 Elementary Schools with an estimated amount of 5M. The Human Resource Training Development will also be enhanced through an Orientation Training of all the public Elementary School and Secondary School Heads on the latest policy-guidelines on the School Improvement Plan; Human Resource Trainings for SDO personnel; 12 Trainings for Teaching and Non-teaching Personnel, and In-Service Trainings for 1,100 teaching personnel.
