. . . .  our CONGRATULATIONS!

ALL learning institutions in a province whether in the Department of Education and or in the Commission of Higher Education are enjoined to participate in sports competitions.

This is mandated under their respective curricula.

In the basic and secondary education levels of the Department of Education, the provincial activity begins with a congressional meet and ends with a provincial meet. Regional meets will then follow.

The Palarong Pambansa is the penultimate athletic activity in this level.

Tertiary institutions under the Commission on Higher Education directly commence with a provincial meet.

In the case of our province, all private colleges and universities of Bohol hold first the Provincial PRISAA meet. After which, winners in that meet will go for the Regional Meet up to the National PRISAA.

Incidentally, private colleges and universities in our province had agreed to form an athletic organization more than a decade already.

Known as the Bohol Schools Athletic Association (BSAA), the aggrupation is originally composed of BIT international College-Tagbilaran Campus, BIT International College-Talibon Campus, Cristal-E College, Holy Name University, PMI Colleges, University of Bohol, and Mater Dei Colleges.

But the yearly BSAA athletic competition is zeroing in only on two major ball games – that of Basketball (Men and Boys) and  Volleyball (Men and Women, Boys and Girls).

And the champions in these provincial ball games are automatic provincial representatives to the regional meet. However, athletic events which were not played during the BSAA are to be competed in the regular PRISAA Provincial Meet.

In this year’s  BSAA Championship Games held during the last two weeks of February, the following results were garnered by the different tertiary schools: Basketball Men, BIT International College-Tagbilaran  defeated PMI Colleges; Basketball Boys, PMI defeated BIT International College; Volleyball Men, BIT International College-Tagbilaran defeated University of Bohol; Volleyball Women, BIT International College defeated University of Bohol

However, in the recently concluded Provincial Meet of the public schools held at LGU Carmen, the championship games for both Volleyball boys and girls were won by the BIT International College –Tagbilaran.

To all the members of the Basketball and Volleyball teams of the BIT International College – Tagbilaran, our hearty CONGRATULATIONS!
