Groundbreaking ceremony marks start of Tagbilaran City’s
Super Mega Health Center and Dialysis Center construction

The City Government of Tagbilaran together with the Department of Health Regional Office No. 7 joins the Groundbreaking and Capsule Laying ceremony of the Tagbilaran City’s Super Mega Health and Dialysis Centers on June 22, 2023 at barangay Dampas, this city. The facility aims at providing comprehensive health services to the people. OFFICIALS of the City Government of Tagbilaran and the Department of Health gathered on June 22, 2023 for the capsule laying ceremony marking the start of the construction a three story Super Mega Health Center and a separate building for the Dialysis Center in Tagbilaran City.

The ceremony took place at barangay Dampas, where the state-of-the-art facilities will soon stand as a testament to the city’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to its residents.

The event was attended by Tagbilaran City mayor Jane Yap, vice mayor Adam Relson Jala, Department of Health (DOH) Region 7 Director Jaime Bernadas, Chief of Staff John Geesnell Yap II, city councilors, City Health Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc, City Engineer Teodoro Estoque, City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha, barangay captains of Tagbilaran City and other DOH representatives.

During her speech, Mayor Jane Yap expressed her enthusiasm about the project and emphasized the significance of the Super Mega Health Center.

She also highlighted the city’s dedication to improve healthcare infrastructure and ensure that quality medical services are accessible to all residents.

“This will be a fulfillment to our commitment to have one-stop-shop where Tagbilaranons can readily avail themselves of various health care services and facilities under one roof,” Mayor Yap stated.

The Super Mega Health Center aims to provide comprehensive medical care, including primary healthcare services, specialized treatments, diagnostic facilities, and emergency care.

It will also feature the first-ever government-owned and operated physiochemical laboratory in the province of Bohol.

During the ceremony, Mayor Jane Yap, along with key officials and project stakeholders, placed a specially designed capsule containing items representing the city’s aspirations for the health center’s success.

The ceremony also included prayers for the safety of the construction workers and the smooth progress of the project.
