GOVERNOR Aris Aumentado pointed out that the government is sincere and made true its commitment in providing help to its constituents in times of need.Aumentado, who graced the distribution of Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP), courtesy of the National Housing Authority (NHA) in Ubay town on Friday, said that the government did not abandon the needy, especially those victims of the typhoon Odette in December 16, 2021.The government may be slow but surely and will always be there such as the EHAP provided by then the former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration. He thanked PRRD and now administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., who fulfilled the said promise. One of the EHAP beneficiaries Joanne Bonghanoy, 28, a resident of Barangay Bood, Ubay town, received the P10,000 cash to repair her home while carrying a months-old kid in her lap after waiting for hours in the covered court of Casate where the cash assistance distribution took place.Bonghanoy, a housewife with five kids with husband Melvin Bucio, 31, a construction worker, thanked the government and the administration of Aumentado for making it possible that she received the cash assistance.Pompea Butawan, 81, also expressed gratitude to the government and to Aumentado for the help that she may be able to repair her Odette-stricken house of the same barangay.“Salamat intawon aron makaayo sa akong bay,” she said in exclusive interview. The governor told media interview that those who are not in the official list, should find out why, like those partially damaged houses will not be considered, but only totally-damaged may avail of the cash assistance. The governor said that a total of P797,000,000.00, with some P107 million being disbursed, for Bohol’s Odette victims whose houses are totally-damaged.NHA caused the distribution of cash assistance at P10K apiece to over 500 qualified recipients from barangay Bood and another 400 plus from barangay Casate in the afternoon. There were a total of 2,250 beneficiaries for barangays Bood (with 564), Casate (464 recipients), Camambogan (452), Tapon (373) and Poblacion (403) are scheduled on March 24-28, 2023 in cash distribution.
