“Colonization and Housewifization”

WHEN a patriarchal culture first developed, men were inclined to blame women for their mistakes and faults, making women the target of abuse.

The entire wave is not only brutal and aggressive, but it also portrays how inferior women are in the patriarchal system. When a patriarchal culture first developed, men were inclined to blame women for their mistakes and faults, making women the target of abuse. The entire wave is not only brutal and aggressive, but it also portrays how inferior women are in the patriarchal system. The tragedy of the patriarchal was the influence that it had on a fundamentally gendered system of economy.

In those communities that are founded on conquering and warfare, the quick development of material possessions is not founded on regular economic work within one’s group, but instead on stealing and robbery—enabling the speedier development of technology. But once more, this technological advancement is not principally focused

on satisfying the common subsistence needs of the community, but rather on increased conflict, conquest, and hegemony.

According to Carolyn Merchant, the violent persecution of women during the nearly four-century-long witch hunt in Europe had a striking resemblance to the destruction of nature as a living organism, the rise of modern technology and science as well as the beginnings of male scientists as the new high priests. The connection between both the New Men and their colonization is just not addressed through Merchant’s analysis. Yet an understanding of this connection is essential but without taking into consideration all those who were “defined into nature” by the modern capitalist patriarchs, including Mother Earth, Women, and Colonies, we cannot understand modern developments, including our current issues.

The period described previously has been considered the era of primitive accumulation of capital. A significant quantity of capital needed to be amassed first before the capitalist mode of production could commence and continue itself as a process of extended reproductions of investment, driven by the producer of marginal utility. Between both the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the colonies were the places where capital was substantially accumulated. The majority of this capital was not acquired by commercial entrepreneurs through “legitimate” trade, but instead mainly by activity affected, by piracy, and involuntary and slave labor.

Presently, as an increasing number of stay-at-home moms leave their children to earn, we have unintentionally accepted the notion that there aren’t any gender differences between men and women. In light of this understanding, we placed a stronger emphasis on class equality than on gender equality. However, Maria Mies challenged this conclusion in her book Colonization and Housewifization by giving examples and statistics. In practice, the maintenance of economic inequalities and inequality on a worldwide scale is essential to capitalism’s exploitation. Maria Mies used the image of an iceberg to explain how capitalism works. Many invisible sections of the iceberg are submerged, yet they nonetheless form the foundation of the whole, according to Mies. According to my readings, though gender and development have been given much analysis, the global economy.

According to some readings, observations, and actual experiences, in the field as a school principal, though gender equality has been given much emphasis and recognition, the rate of dysfunctional families has increased. Problems in society

have been felt due to a lack of parental care and guidance, especially from the care of absentee mothers. The love and affection that children need have slowly been diminishing from the picture of a household scenario because both parents are trying to meet the economic demands of the society that they are in.

It is just hoped and prayed that society will not forget the real essence of the different endeavors that the parents are striving with.
