THIS November 4, the Province of Bohol will once again mark CPG Day to commemorate the 126th birth anniversary of Bohol’s Most Illustrious Son, President Carlos P. Garcia.
To make this year’s celebration more remarkable, the Provincial Government, through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office-Public Employment-Service Office (BEPO-PESO), will once again be conducting a local and overseas jobs fair for Boholano jobseekers on November 5 at the Bohol Cultural Center.
This, according to BEPO-PESO Head, Maria Vilma C. Yorong, who announced that the upcoming grand jobs fair will be for those who missed the opportunity to get hired during previous but similar engagements.
BEPO-PESO is currently coordinating with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment Bohol Field Office (DOLE-Bohol) and all PESO offices throughout the province for this one-day interaction between and among prospective employers and jobseekers.
Of all of BEPO-PESO’s partner agencies, POEA is the one focusing on providing world-class Filipino migrant workers to other countries, specializing in building connections and partnerships with all stakeholders, facilitating the generation and preservation of decent jobs for Filipino migrant workers and promoting their protection; thus, advocating for their smooth reintegration into Philippine society.”
The current administration of Gov. Aris C. Aumentado and Vice-Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite is quite happy with this new development for the incumbent tandem is aware that unemployment is not just a labor issue but more of a major social problem that needs to be addressed properly for communities to become economically healthy.
Both provincial leaders are constantly getting in touch with different local and international agencies to push for more similar activities and forge partnerships, especially those that focus on trainings and employment for the youth like the one recently formed between and among the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) and YouthWorksPH; and of course, to strengthen the one with its perennial partner, TESDA.
Gov. Aumentado and Vice-Gov. Balite are bent on attaining more strategies and finding additional agencies that are willing to help, assist, establish and nurture alliances for our youth and thousands of jobseekers to achieve the balance that our communities need between the business sector and the labor force.
For the upcoming November 5 Local and Overseas Jobs Fair, interested aspirants are advised to bring at least 3-5 sets of comprehensive resume/biodata, diploma, transcript of records (TOR), employment and training certificates, NBI/Police clearance, 2×2 ID pictures and passport.
Jobseekers are encouraged to pre-register at the BEPO-PESO located at the third floor of the Provincial Capitol or at their respective Municipal PESO offices to secure their registration cards for the activity. (PR)
