Free haircut highlights City’s Employee Appreciation Day

Salome Abuyabor from the City Treasurer’s Office enjoys free haircut during the Employee Appreciation Day conducted in the City Hall Atrium.

IN celebration of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the City Government conducted an Employees’ Appreciation Day in the City Hall Atrium on September 30, 2022. Mayor Jane Yap provided FREE haircut, manicure, pedicure, and reflexology to the City Hall employees.

Prior to the relaxation services to the City Hall personnel, the City Human Resources and Management Office also recognized outstanding and dedicated employees. City Mayor Jane Yap, City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha, and City Councilor Eliezer Borja handed out the plaques of recognition.

The long list of awardees was led by the Maagap Awardees namely, Reyna Flor Bucag and Emma Sagaral from the City Health Office and Jean Dolauta, Jean from the City Economic Enterprise Office. The Personnel Development and Academic Excellence Award went to Mary Christine Bitoy from the City Treasurer’s Office who obtained her Juris Doctor degree and also passed the Intermediate Competency on Local Treasury Examination conducted by the Civil Service Commission; Mitzi Fortich from the Tagbilaran City College for completing her Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management; Maria Salome Longjas for completing her Master’s in Public Administration, and Jane Fabio for passing the Licensure Examination for Social Workers. The Gantimpala Agad Award went to Jaeson-Vecar Inting.

Plaques of Recognition were also given to Honorable Raul Aparicio II, Atty. Thea Ivory Parras, and Dr. Karina Mae Uy. The retirees were also recognized, Arsenio Balag; Rogelio Baldapan; Carmelita Beldoro; Servidia Biloy; Leonida Del Puerto; Marilyn Echavia; Asuncion Epe; Emilia Escobilla; Virgilia Incog; Eliezer Inojales; Renato Inting; Estelita Javier; Carmelita Lantaka; Teofila Mesiona; Francisco Montemayor; Ma. Gilda Omictin; Esmeralda Ramirez; Tomas Ruiz; Floro Tabuno; Victor Tudtud, and Carlita Verula.

The outstanding achievements of the different departments were also awarded — the Tagbilaran City Youth Development Alliance with the City Youth Development Office represented by Marbert Remolador, May Adrelyn Tubo,  John Michael Isabela, and Louel Velasquez for being awarded the Convergence Award Youth Entrepreneurship Innovation from the USAID Opportunity 2.0 and Convergence Award Development Planning and Service Delivery from USAID Opportunity 2.0; Tagbilaran City College represented by their first College Administrator Dr. Del Mark Cagatin; Inclusion of Tagbilaran City College as beneficiary of Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act as approved by the Commission on Higher Education; City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office represented by Gerard Lavadia for the Gawad Kalasag Plaque of Recognition; the City Planning and Development Office represented by Engr. Estella Margate and City ENRO Designate Mr. Ceasar Pelaez for being awarded the Best in Dumpsite Closure and Rehabilitation Implementation from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau VII; the City Accountant’s Office represented by Eleanor Beniga for the Certificate of Recognition for the 100% encoding and uploading of pertinent 2016-2020 projects’ data from the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Region VII; City Health Office represented by Dr. Jeia Pondoc for the Certificate of Recognition for gaining top scores in Dimension 2 (Nutrition Laws and Policies), 3 (Governance and Organizational Structure) and 4 (Local Nutrition Committee Management) in the Search for Best City in Central Visayas from the National Nutrition Council-7; City General Services Office represented by Dr. Chris John Rener Torralba for the Five-Star Energy Audit Rating in the implementation of the Government Energy Management Program from the Department of Energy, Department of Science and Technology and DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute, and Hon. John Geesnell L. Yap II for being cited as an Outstanding Holynamian Alumni Awardee for Servant Leadership from the Holy Name University.
