Cebu, Bohol PBs to hold joint session

THE provincial boards of Cebu and Bohol are slated to hold a joint session, the first in recent years, at the social hall, Capitol building in Cebu City on November 18, 2024 at 2 in the afternoon.

Vice-Gov. Tita Baja confirmed this.

This is also based on the notice of the joint session sent to Bohol by Cebu SP secretary Atty. Pulchra Marie Acevedo.

Slated to attend on the part of Bohol are all the PB members, according to the Office of the Vice-Governor Tita V. Baja, who will lead the delegation. They’ll leave at 8:20 in the morning on Monday via fast craft in the city.

The said notice said that the PBs of both provinces is to pass a Resolution, forging a sisterhood agreement to strengthen and foster the bond of cooperation in the field of tourism, commerce, business and inter-economy and other shared benefits for growth of the region.

It was not immediately known if the remaining provinces of Bohol and Cebu now comprise region 7 will tackle the impact of the creation of Negros Island Region (NIR), composed of the Negros Oriental an Occidental.

Pres. Marcos recently signed the law creating the NIR that includes Negros Oriental and Siquijor, leaving region 7 with Cebu and Bohol. (rvo)
