UNITED by a shared mission to serve the Boholano people, employees of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) came together at Bantawan, Tagbilaran City, on September 18, 2026, for an evening of fellowship and celebration during the PGBh Family Day.
Held as part of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the gathering brought together employees from various offices and clusters, highlighting how their different roles contribute to one common purpose: delivering meaningful and responsive public service.
As Bohol continues to advance its development agenda and strengthen its identity as the country’s first and only UNESCO Global Geopark, the event recognized the employees whose work supports programs that promote sustainable development, community welfare, and the protection of the province’s natural and cultural heritage.
The gathering provided employees an opportunity to strengthen workplace ties while recognizing the people behind the provincial government’s programs and services.
Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte, in her welcome message, emphasized that employees may have different offices and responsibilities but remain united as one provincial government family.
“Our offices and responsibilities may vary, but we are united by one purpose to serve our people with dedication, integrity, compassion, and excellence,” Caberte said.
Governor Aris Aumentado likewise recognized the employees’ contribution to translating the provincial government’s programs into services and improvements felt by Boholanos.
“Kung wala ang inyong pagduyog sa atong mga programa, dili mabati sa mga Bol-anon ang kabag-ohan nga dala sa atong Kagamhanang Probinsyal,” Aumentado said.
The celebration also showcased the talents of Capitol employees through the Miss PGBh competition.
Bagging Best in Talent and Best in Q&A, Desiree Gerenia of the Development Administration Cluster was crowned Miss PGBh.
The Finance Cluster earned Best in Production, while the Legislative Cluster took Best in Evening Gown.
The Hip-hop Dance Competition added energy to the celebration as employees demonstrated creativity and teamwork.
The Infrastructure Cluster emerged as champion, followed by the Economic Cluster in second place and the Social Environment Cluster in third.
Vice Governor Nick Besas also delivered a message during the gathering, joining provincial officials in recognizing the dedication of Capitol employees to their duties and responsibilities in public service.
The event was also attended by Board Members Nathaniel Binlod and Dionisio Joseph Balite, Lucille Lagunay, Joahna Cabalit-Initay, and Chief of Staff Atty. Filipina Asoy-Piollo.
The evening concluded with a live band performance, giving employees time to unwind and celebrate with their colleagues.
More than a day of entertainment, the PGBh Family Day underscored the role of employees as partners in advancing the province’s development goals.
Their collective work remains central to building a responsive government and sustaining Bohol’s path toward smart, resilient, and inclusive development under the Strategic Governance Roadmap. (PIMO/MAPI)
