CONGRESSWOMEN Vanvan Aumentado (2nd dist) and Alexie B. Tutor (3rd dist) gain cheers from their respective throng of supporters and only few frowned for their No votes cast opposing to the articles of second impeachment complaint against Vice-Pres. Sara Z. Duterte during the House of Representatives nominal voting session on May 11.

Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte reportedly called and congratulated Aumentado for her NO vote, impeccable source exclusively told this writer.

Aumentado and Tutor also got praises from former chief legal counsel of ex-Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte even as he thanked the duo, saying that they were not swayed by the alleged offer by the administration.

Cong. Baba Yap got bashed but his avid supporters applauded him on social media for his stance in voting YES to the articles of complaint for what he believes for the good of his district.

Reps. Aumentado, Tutor and Yap articulated their stance in separate consultations prior to the nominal voting and thanked their constituents for their support.

A total of 255 congressmen approved the articles of impeachment which has been forwarded to the Senate.  Twenty-six solons, including Aumentado and Tutor, opposed to it, nine abstained and 27 did not participate or absent, including former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and his protégé Arthur Yap, former governor and now party-list representative.

Prior to the voting week, the three were reportedly conducting their respective consultation with their respective constituents.

Yap serves in his first term while Aumentado and Tutor for their second and last terms in office, respectively.

San Isidro Mayor Atty. Diosdado Gementiza and his wife councilor Gloria B. Gementiza were probably the first to go against the impeachment in social media post.

Lila Mayor Atty. Jed Pollo also expressed his opposition to the impeachment, saying that majority of his constituents oppose to it based on public consultation.

Bohol is considered as Duterte country for the pro-Duterte sentiments run deep based on the results of the elections in the 2016, 2022 and 2025. (RVO)
