REGISTERED voters in Bohol are likely to cast their votes for the incumbents (sitting officials) based on their preferences, according to Bohol Poll 2025 that conducted the opinion polling on March 6-30 this year.
For governor, incumbent Gov. Aris Aumentado is already a winner for his second term. He got a total of 80% of the voter-respondents. Contenders Atty. Dan Lim had 6% and Hardy Leopando, 2%. Those who gave no answer or declined, 11%.
The governor scored high in second district with 90%; Lim and Leopando, 2% apiece and 6% undecided. Third district: Aris, 79%; Lim, 4% and Leopando,3%; undecided, 14%. First district: Aris, 74; Lim 13; and Leopando, zero; undecided, 13%.
Incumbent PCL president Nick Besas got 31% while his opponents for vice-governor Santos Abella had11% and Gerry Garcia, 28%. Undecided, 30% of the 400 respondents-voters.
Besas scored 32% in first district; and 24% and 30% for second ad third, respectively. Abella got 9%, 16% and 8%; and Garcia, 21%, 43% and 34%.
For first district congressional race, respondents gave Baba Yap a whopping 50% of the voters-respondents, while incumbent Cong. Edgardo Chatto had only 26%. Other contenders Atty. Jordan Pizarras,12% and Marybelle del Serna, 1%.
Baba Yap scored 61% in the city; balance for dist. one, 47%; and undecided, 13%. Chatto’s score: 13% in the city; and balance of district one, 30%. Baba Yap got respondents (30-39 age group) nod with 58% while Chatto, 21%; dela Serna, zero; and Pizarras, 6%.
Respondent-voters of second district gave Incumbent Congw. Vanessa C. Aumentado and enormous 89% as against her solo opponent. Engr. Modesto Membreve’s5%. Undecided, 6%.
The congresswoman got 100% from 40-49 age group. She also scored high in urban and rural voters with 80 and 89%, respectively.
The respondent-voters of third district are likely to vote for incumbent Congresswoman Kristine Alexie B. Tutor, who scored 77% against her lone rival, Makdo Castanares’, 13%. Undecided, 10%.
Tutor scored 100% and 76% for urban and rural, respectively. She also got 100% from class E and 83% from age group of 50-59. Castanares got only 14% in rural, zero in urban; and 17% from age group of 50-59.
In Tagbilaran City, the mayoralty race is probably the most hotly disputed. First councilor Atoy Torralba, who challenged the incumbent, got 25%, less than half of mayor Jane Yap’s 54%. Undecided, 21%.
Among the class, Yap got 75% of class E against Torralba’s 25%. Class ABC: Yap’s 55%; Torralba, 17%; and class D: Yap, 52% and Torralba,28%.
For city vice-mayoralty race, incumbent City Vice-Mayor Atty. Adam Relson Jala got 61% of the respondent-voters nod. His opponents, Toto Veloso scored 13%; and Geniston Balbin, 10%. Undecided/no answer, 16%.
Jala is favored by Class E, garnering 75% while Veloso, 25% and Balbin, zero.
The vice-mayor also got a big slice of 76% among the age group of 18-29. His rivals Veloso and Balbin, 5% apiece. (Ric Obedencio)
