A TOTAL of ₱2.163 million in financial and livelihood assistance was distributed across Bohol’s first district, supporting local organizations and advancing barangay development on August 22, 2026.

Governor Aris Aumentado led the Capitol initiative to empower local organizations, strengthen community livelihoods, and advance barangay development.

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), through the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), turned over ₱513,000 in livelihood support to the Haguilanan Coconut Farmers Association Incorporated in Barangay Haguilanan, Catigbian.

Gov. Aumentado congratulated the recipient coconut farmers while emphasizing that the provincial government thoroughly evaluates every beneficiary organization prior to releasing public financial resources.

“Amo gyud gi klaro ug unsa ang katuyuan sa asosasyon, angay ba kasaligan, angay ba nga sila suportahan ug wala gyud mi nasayop tungod kay sa actual na inspeksyon sa taga PCDO nakita namo nga ang inyong asosasyon preparado, united, ug angay tabangan kay naningkamot mo sa inyong paghiusa sa inyong asosasyon,” Gov. Aumentado stated.

The governor further urged the beneficiaries to maximize the funds to expand their operations, assuring them that organizational success will justify future provincial government support.

Board Member (BM) Lucille Lagunay expressed her strong support for the recipient organizations and challenged members to continually pursue institutional growth beyond their current achievements.

Furthermore, BM Lagunay invited residents across the province to attend the upcoming Dairy Festival in Talibon on August 24.

Catigbian Mayor Benjie Oliva and Vice Mayor Esteban Angilan Jr. also conveyed their firm support during the formal turnover ceremony.

PCDO Head Ma. Conrada Fuentes explained that the rigorous screening process guarantees that financial grants exclusively support viable and appropriate community projects.

She urged beneficiaries to implement their approved project proposals faithfully while properly managing and safeguarding the assets for long-term community benefits.

Haguilanan Coconut Farmers Association Incorporated President Ranold Magsino expressed deep gratitude to Gov. Aumentado and BM Lagunay, highlighting his association’s privilege in being selected among numerous applicant groups.

Catigbian Local Government Unit Municipal Cooperatives Development Office and Civil Society Organization Desk Officer Cleeford Jan Rulida encouraged beneficiaries to prudently manage the aid to enhance their livestock projects.

In addition to Catigbian, the PGBh simultaneously extended development funding and barangay aid to the municipalities of Corella and Antequera.

The Capitol allocated ₱240,000 to Barangay Cancatac, ₱180,000 to the Local Government Unit of Corella as sand and gravel shares, and ₱300,000 to Barangay Canapnapan for essential office furniture, tools, and supplies.

Eight barangays in Corella, including Barangay Canangca-an, each received ₱30,000 under the Capitol’s Barangay Aid Program.

Corella Mayor Juan Manuel Lim, Canapnapan Barangay Captain John Kenneth Lao, and Cancatac Barangay Captain Apolio Lumactud formally accepted the assistance packages on behalf of their constituents.

In Antequera, the Capitol released ₱60,000 to Barangay Cansibuan, ₱45,000 to the local government unit, and ₱30,000 each to twenty-one barangays under the Barangay Aid Program.

Antequera Mayor Jose Mario Pahang, Cansibuan Barangay Captain Edwina Tiu, and Taguba-as Barangay Captain Alberto Taga-amo received the check turnover for their respective communities.

Aligned with the Strategic Governance Roadmap, this comprehensive financial distribution reinforces Capitol efforts to bring public resources directly to communities, fostering inclusive and resilient development while advancing sustainable economic growth across the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark.
