
CARMEN, Bohol- A super health center that will cater to the medical needs of residents from 29 villages in this town and is eyed to decongest hospitals in the province was inaugurated Wednesday, March 5.
The event was personally attended by Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, the proponent of the facility’s construction.
He was accompanied by senatoriable and actor Phillip Salvador. Both were welcomed by Carmen Mayor Che Toribio- Delos Reyes, Vice Mayor Romeo Bigay and other local officials, Board Members Nathaniel Binlod, Greg Jala and Deedjay Balite, Loay Councilor Philip Quino, barangay health workers, and personnel from Department of Health (DOH).
Super health center is a medium-type polyclinic that provides primary care services like dental, laboratory, X-ray, birthing facility, and other medical services.
Go emphasized the urgency of strengthening our healthcare system and the need to improve access to primary care, medical consultations and early detection of diseases.
He said the Super Health Centers are designed to offer a wide range of services from primary care and consultation to early detection. These centers aim to significantly strengthen the healthcare sector, particularly in underserved areas.
The senator expressed gratitude to the Department of Health and the local government for their diligent efforts in making the Super Health Center a reality.
There are 18 Super Health Centers to be constructed in Bohol. There are two Malasakit Centers which are operational in Bohol- Gov. Celestino Gallares Medical Center in Tagbilaran and Don Emilio Del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay, assisting patients with their medical expenses. The DOH reports that the program has already benefited over 15 million filipinos.
“Mayroon lang po akong sasabihin sa inyo at tandaan po natin ito. Minsan lang tayo dadaan sa mundong ito. Kung ano pong kabutihan o tulong na pwede nating gawin sa ating kapwa ay gawin na natin ngayon dahil hindi na tayo babalik sa mundong ito. Iyan po ang totoo,” he added.
Go and Salvador also attended the Farmers Congress. At least 3,000 farmers attended the event. (BIN/rvo)
