Water desalination projects turnover to island barangays

WATER desalination projects worth millions of pesos were blessed and turned over in island barangays of Talibon and Bien Unido, Congresswoman Vanvan C. Aumentado said in her faecbook post.

“Desalination means the process of removing salt especially from sea water so that it can be used for drinking. Daghang stages or processes ang agi-an usa kini mahimong potable water or safe to drink,” she said.

Recipients of the desalination projects worth P12.7 million are the island barangays of Cataban, Sag, and Nocnocan, all in Talibon town and island barangays of Hingotanan East and West, to the tune of P12.7 million in the town of Bien-Unido.

The congresswoman expressed thanks to Philippine Rural Development Program and the World Bank who bankrolled the projects with counterpart from Department of Agriculture and the provincial government of Bohol.

Governor Aris Aumentado urged the islanders to take care of the projects like taking care of their children.

He said the sustainability of the project largely depends on them, reminding them that there may not be funds for the project considering that a lot of islands needs the same.

The Aumentados were accompanied by Vice-Gov Victor Balite, Board Member Atty Jamie Villamor, Roni Bunado, Engr Namoc, Engr. Camilo Gasatan, Talibon Mayor Janette Garcia, B-Unido MPDC Jane Zerda and barangay officials and Next Level construction representatives. (rvo)
