Officiating Swimming Events: More than Just Finding Friends

The Bohol Provincial Meet held on February 16-18, 2024 is participated by athletes, coaching, trainers, and technical officials from Congressional District 1 (CD-1), Congressional District 2 (CD-2), Congressional District 3 (CD-3), Bohol Association of Catholic Schools (BACS)-Tagbilaran City, Bohol Association of Catholic Schools (BCAS)-Talibon, and Bohol Institute of Technology-International College (BIT-IC).   All participating teams/units have entries for the swimming event held at Captain Peak Resort, Sagbayan, Bohol.

ESP Juniver Cabrera served as the tournament manager for the elementary level with PSDS Carlito Fuentes as the tournament manager for the secondary level. The following are the competent, dedicated, and committed technical officials for this year’s swimming event: Ernesto Concon, Debbie Lustre, Cesar Jamero, Glecer Bongo, Rey Jamero, JF Winjoy Mascarenas, Remegio Arana, Galicano Alquiza, Anecito Escobido, Rolando Cabanero, Jacinto Amoguis, Pamela Mae Mapute, Mae Migrino, Teofreda Namoc, Ma. Ana Astillo, Lina Teves, Rodolfo Ontong, Epifania Montecillo, Ruel Gultian, Jomelyn Cabanero, Ronlie Obena, Carlito Caturza Jr., Rubie Ann Ayuban, Arnel Destacamento, Vincent Orapa, Ma. Maya V. Tumalon, Dawn Hocino, Honeyqueen Amparo, Johnel Aparece, Boylyn Evardo, and Rachelle Jimenez. The swimming event is fortunate to have Moses Butihen, and Cherabel Gomer as the Tournament Coordinators whose passion, dedication, and competence in the delivery of the specific tasks assigned contributed much to the successful conduct of this year’s swimming event.

On the second day of the said sports activity are the three swimming events for learners with special needs. Events No.1 (50 m freestyle), No.2 (50 m breaststroke) , and No.3 (50 m backstroke) were swum and managed by Jean Rea O. Alaba,

The personnel involved in the swimming events experience not only the concept of competition for who will be representing the province in the coming Central Visayas Athletic Association (CViRAA) sports events, but also found new friends, and experiences that would surely give lessons in their daily undertakings.
