UNDER the dynamic leadership of Mayor Jane Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala, Tagbilaran City officially inaugurated the National Arts Month 2024 with the Sabay Turismo Modern Dance Competition held at the Island City Mall Activity Center on February 1, 2024.
The event, organized by the City Events, Culture and Arts Office, featured talented participants from various schools which showcased their artistic abilities, interpreting the theme of cultural and tourism appreciation in innovative dance choreography.
In a closely contested competition, Holy Name University emerged as the champion, followed by Manga National High School securing the 2nd place, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School clinching the 3rd place, and Great Minds Leadership Academy earning the 4th place.
The judging panel consisted of esteemed individuals in the field of arts and culture: Nila Itac, Fiel Angelie Gabin, and Kate Llanit.
Expressing her delight at the event’s success, Mayor Yap said in her message: “The National Arts Month is a celebration of our rich cultural tapestry and the creative spirit that defines Tagbilaran City. The Sabay Turismo dance competition showcases the incredible talent within our community.”
