AS human beings, we must do good to others. If we are doing good to others, others will also do good to us, and eventually, love, peace, and harmony will reign among us. Doing good to others will result in the absence of hatred, conflict, and misinterpretation. Hence, the outcome of the presence of love, peace, and harmonious relationships with others. So, it is important to do good to others.
Doing good to others or in the presence of others is a good act. It is because doing good to others will lead to a good result. Others who witness the act of doing good will also be inspired to do something good to others. They will be emulating what you do to others. As an outcome, everyone is influenced in doing good since they are motivated by the good acts that others do.
If doing good to others is a good act, doing good even if no one is watching is also a commendable act. That is what we call INTEGRITY. Integrity means doing something good even in the absence of others or even if no one sees what you are doing. It is one of the most important character traits a person can do or can possess. It is doing the right thing constantly, even if you are alone.
According to the great British writer, Clive Staples Lewis who is also known as C.S. Lewis, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching”. When you do the right thing even if you are alone, you are doing personal integrity over the approval, appreciation, or admiration of other people. If you have integrity, you are a trustworthy person. It is because you are doing acts of goodness even if no one is watching you. So, you are honorable.
Another thing, if you are doing what is good even you are alone, it also means that you are also an honest person. If you are a reliable person, many will appreciate you. A lot of people will trust you since you are reliable and are doing good things even if you are alone only. To put it in a different perspective, people will entrust tasks and responsibilities to you for being an honest person and having personal integrity. You choose to do what is good and right even if no one is watching you. You do not need the admiration or appreciation of others. Even if no one is watching you, you are still doing good or right.
It has been said that what you are doing if you are alone, is your true self. What you are doing even if no one is watching you shows your real identity as a person. If you are doing good even if no one is watching you, it means that you are a good person. You are a trustworthy and honest person. You choose to do good even if you are alone, and that is integrity. Even if you do not receive the approval and admiration of others, you are still doing good. That is a good act.
It is proper to do something good even if no one is watching. Everyone should do good even if nobody is present. If everyone is good, without a doubt, there will be no problems in our society. Conflict, misunderstandings, and even corruption can be avoided if everyone is capable of doing good even if no one is around. In other words, if everyone is doing good with or without other people witnessing it, it will make our relationships with others strong, and eventually make our society a better place to live in.
I am challenging everyone to do good even if no one is watching. Let us follow our conscience and only do what is right. Let us remember that God is always watching us from above. What we are doing, whether it is good or bad, and even if it is in the absence or presence of other people, God absolutely can see it. I know everyone can do good even if no one is watching. Let us engrave it in our hearts and minds to do good even if no one is watching us. I know each one can do it.
