THE City of Tagbilaran was named anew as the “Most Business Friendly City” in the country, particularly in category three, by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
The city’s achievement was further magnified as it was declared a Hall of Fame Awardee, an honor earned for clinching this coveted award three times within the past five years.
Mayor Jane Yap, together with former Mayor and Chief of Staff, John Geesnell Baba Yap, received the plaque during the 49th Philippine Business Conference and Expo on October 26, 2023 at the Manila Hotel.
In her acknowledgment of this outstanding recognition, Mayor Yap expressed her profound appreciation for the dedication and hard work that have gone into making Tagbilaran City a prime destination for businesses.
“Tagbilaran City is committed to creating an inclusive and dynamic space for businesses, both big and small. This award represents the collective dedication of the team and we dedicate this to all Tagbilaranons,” Mayor Yap stated.
The “Most Business Friendly” distinction is a prestigious annual accolade that recognizes local governments providing an environment conducive to business growth.
The rigorous evaluation process assesses cities and municipalities across six essential criteria, encompassing trade, investments, and tourism promotion, public-private sector partnerships, medium, small, and micro-enterprise development, quality management systems, innovation and human resource development, and quality customer service, along with local government collaboration.
This remarkable achievement reflects Tagbilaran City’s steadfast dedication to nurturing and sustaining a favorable atmosphere for businesses to flourish and contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of the community.
