Capitol takes aim at brgys
unliquidated financial aids

THE Provincial Government of Bohol took aim at barangays whose financial assistance it extended to them remained unliquidated even before the Aumentado administration took over the Capitol.

It demanded that the barangays who received such aids but failed to liquidate to return and settle the unliquidated fund aids.

Earlier, Governor Aris Aumentado reminded the barangays which have unliquidated cash advances to account for it and submit report to Capitol for them to qualify another financial aid.

Provincial Accountant Joseth J. Celocia, for instance, requested Tubigon Mayor William Jao “to facilitate the distribution of said summary report to respective barangays within your municipality.”

Celocia said that each barangay in Tubigon must be required “to submit fund utilization reports on any unspent amount to fully settle their accounts with the PGBh as these fund releases were already beyond the prescribed liquidation period.”

The following are the barangays in Tubigon town that did not yet do liquidation of fund assistance given by the Capitol and the corresponding unliquidated amount:

Barangay Bagongbanwa Island, P99,985.00; Banlasan, P100,000.00; Bosongon, P275,000.00; Bunacan, P100,000.00; Cawayanan, P294,500.00; Guiwanon, P100,000.00; Ilijan Sur, P20,000.00; Libertad, P100,000.00; Matabao, P100,000.00; Mocaboc Island, P1,000,000.00; Panadtaran, P100,000.00; Pandan, P140,000.00; Pinayagan Norte, P149,000.00; and Pinayagan Sur, P40,000.00.

The municipality of Tubigon’s unliquidated fund assistance amounted to P34,196.49, Provincial Accountant’s Office (PACCO) record showed.

It is the policy of the Capitol to disqualify barangays which have not liquidated the fund aid given in receiving another financial assistance.

It was learned that the same is true in other barangays in some municipalities. (rvo)
