Go Beyond the Impossible

“TO Discover The Limits of the Possible is to Go Beyond the Impossible”. This cliché sounds intriguing yet motivating as seemingly confront with assured power of resistance, a negative connotation which equates to openly resist or refuse to obey; behaving differently, ignoring or opposing to a norm, of what is conventional and traditional.

On the other, “Defying Limits” is Performing Beyond the Ordinary; that upon knowing the limitations, oneself could opt an option to be brave enough to outface, head on and stand up to own beliefs, aspirations and visions without hesitation and fear.

To defy a limit, we must determine what merely exist and possible.  It is on this context, the title prevails. Expect thought provoking and out-of-the-box articles on this column.

Dr. Dioscoro “Jun” Orias Ayag, Jr. PhD is an HR/OD professional working overseas for more than 2 decades in international banking, outsourcing, human resources and industrial relations in oil & gas and petrochemical environment. A migrant returnee for about 12 years now whom he spent in the academe engaging in marketing and research initiatives while doing consultancy jobs in both private and government institutions.

Dr. Jun as fondly called by his students, friends  and compatriots is a multi-awarded personality having clinched the Bagong Bayani national awardee and Most Outstanding Alumnus (Semper Fidelis, Scientia) of the University of San Carlos for perpetuating Filipino Culture and the Arts in the country and abroad. A recipient of Model OFW Family of the Year Award and Outstanding OFW Achievement Award; both for Central Visayas in Landbased OFW category. His international career stint bagged him the Service Excellence Award for Outstanding Performance with Saudi American Bank, an affiliate of Citibank.

His passion is manifested through his works and dedication to various advocacy in tourism, migrant affairs, consumerism, culture and heritage preservation and the arts. Amongst his contributions in addressing to social challenges could be reflected from the organizations he got involved with: VP, Visayas – Samahan ng Sakahang Pangturismo ng Pilipinas; President, Central Visayas Farm Tourism Association; Vice-President of Consumer Watch Bohol Inc. and one of the Founding Officers of the Bohol Youth Consumer Movement.

Recently, Dr. Ayag was inducted as the Chairperson of the Provincial Consultative Assembly for the Province of Bohol under the auspices of the National Anti-Poverty Commission or NAPC. He is also the newly appointed Dean of Planning, Research, Quality Assurance (PRQA) of BIT International College system.
