THE city government of Tagbilaran thru the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO) recently launched a free pet microchipping.
Aimed at promoting pet ownership and a rabies-free city, the project is a help to owners in monitoring their pet’s vaccination, temperature, and location.
According to Mayor Jane Yap, the program aims at pet permanent identification, and rabies prevention, and in case the dog or cat went missing, they can be easily found and reunite with the owner
Mayor Yap also encouraged residents to take advantage of the free program and have their pets implanted with microchips soon as possible.
A microchip is only the size of a grain of rice and is permanent.
Each microchip has a unique number and contains basic information about the pet dog, such as the owner’s name and contact details.
