WHO would have thought of assassinating Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo right in his own residence, and in the presence of several civilians?
This would be the question lurking in everybody’s mind following the arrest of 3 suspects in the bloody massacre yesterday morning of Degamo in his residence in Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
Of course, the police could get a lot of information from the 3 suspects, assuming that they would cooperate in the investigation. But if the suspects or their families summon their lawyers, then the situation becomes complicated.
Because by then, the lawyers would insist on the legal way of securing the confession of the suspects.

In the mind of many residents in Negros Oriental, I am sure they are thinking of a possible mastermind, the same name who is also thought by many to be the same mastermind to the other unresolved killings of lawyers, media personnel and even ordinary farmers in Negros Oriental.
The name is spread in hush-hush for obvious reasons. Nobody wants to be the next in line to the hapless victims of killings in that province.
So when some Negrenses discuss about the killings, automatically the name is mentioned as the culprit.
Why?
Naa na man god siyay record, a deadly record at that.
Hasta gani ang anak, naa na sab similar record and this is the very reason why the name automatically crops up when killings in that province are mentioned.

Now, the PNP of Negros Oriental has 3 suspects, one of whom has a CIDG identification card in his possession when arrested.
The Card bears the name “Agent Joric G. Labrador.”
What this really means remains a mystery as of the moment.

What is “fortunate” about the incident is the fact that there is a CCTV footage.
The suspects could be linked to those shown in the footage, provided there is clear resemblance.
