THE Regional Development Council (RDC), now chaired by Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado, has many milestone projects, like the Tagbilaran-Dauis offshore bridge and upgrading of the Malinao dam in Pilar town waiting to be accomplished.

This surfaced during the ceremonial oath-taking of Aumentado as RDC chair before Judge Jennifer Chavez Marcos during the gathering held at new Capitol building, Tagbilaran City.

“In return for the trust and confidence afforded to me, rest assured that 100% committed to this responsibility-directing Central Visayas towards becoming an even more progressive and united region against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic and the devastations of Super Typhoon Odette,” Aumentado said.

Aumentado said he is committed to lead in coordinating and setting the direction of the region’s development efforts. Under his watch, he is hopeful to unite the region through the development of its tourism industry with the tourism alliances between and among the provinces of Cebu, Siquijor and Negros Oriental.

“With humility, I ask for your full support. Please work with me in ensuring that our beloved region achieves sustainability in the areas of food security, economic progress, inclusive growth, shared prosperity, good governance, and better lives for everyone,” said in his speech Aumentado.

Aside from the said bridge project and irrigation dam, others major projects which are being monitored and evaluated include the following: New Cebu International Container Port (NCICP) New Dumaguete airport, Bantayan airport, Siquijor airport, Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) of the Department of Transportation.
