FOR whatever reasons, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) revealed that they are still working on the payout of thousands of beneficiaries of the P5K ayuda for the remaining 17 local government units in Bohol.
Speaking for the Social Welfare and Development Officer for Bohol during the most recent weekly Capitol Reports, Charo Poligrates assured that the DSWD targets the ayuda for residents of 47 towns and Tagbilaran City.
The P5K ayuda is the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) considering that the whole of Bohol was hit by the superstorm that peeled roofs from nearly 200,000 households in Bohol, rendering thousands homeless and struggling to survive.
Of the assistance which former president Rodrigo Duterte ordered released, Poligrates said some 125,946 households from 31 towns have been given the cash assistance.
This amounts to P628,825,000, she said, based on the DSWD records shared to the regional office.
She revealed that there are still unpaid beneficiaries from 17 LGUS, but they are still coordinating with the Central Office for the release of the funds for these beneficiaries.
As to the number of potential beneficiaries from the 17 towns, the lady official could not ascertain yet until the payout is consummated.
As to her, there are still ongoing verifications in the 17 LGUs and the number of beneficiaries cannot be determined yet as the DSWD is validating and revalidating the list still.
Poligrates, who is the DSWD focal person for another program named Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), added that now, she has yet no figures on the number of upcoming beneficiaries.
There is an ongoing validation and revalidation, while the DSWD is also making follow-ups to the Department of Budget and Management.
The official did not also share how come the first 37 towns have gotten already their assistance and how come the 17 were left behind. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
