P1-M each to quake-hit Ilocos Sur, Abra – Aris

GOV. ARIS

GOVERNOR Aris Aumentado said that the Provincial Government of Bohol has allotted Php1 million apiece to the provinces of Ilocos Sur and Abra, badly hit by 7.0 magnitude earthquake recently.

He said this was approved on Friday during the meeting of the provincial disaster risk reduction office he called.

The governor said that provincial budget officer Peter Ross Retutal has certified the fund availability.

Bohol province was the recipient of the many donations, cash or in kind, from generous local and foreign donors after it was hit by same magnitude of quake on October 15, 2013.

Capitol is ready to send a team of emergency responders to Abra and the Ilocos region but they have yet to be dispatched as they’re awaiting for signal of the Office of the Civil Defense in region 7.

The PDRRMO did this before in the aftermath of super typhoon “Yolanda” that devastated Leyte and Tacloban city.

PDRRMO chief Anthony Damalerio said Aumentado ordered the creation of the response team after the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) 7 requested for assistance from local government units.

“Nangayo sila og augmentation of resources para sa areas didto sa Abra tungod ug Ilocos Region. After sa ilang tawag gi relay dayon nato ni Gov. Aris unya iyang tubag dayon is magpadala ta og team,” Damalerio was quoted as saying. (rvo)
