THE Tagbilaran City Police Station was adjudged as the Outstanding City Police Station of the Year in Police Community Relations. The awarding was held during the celebration of the 27th Police Community Relations (PC) Month Celebration in Camp Sergio Osmena Sr. in Cebu City ON July 29, 2022.
Chief of Staff Baba Yap along with Former Tagbilaran City Chief of Police Mary Crystal Peralta received the award.
The celebration was led by the Police Regional Office 7 under the lead Regional Director Police Brigadier General Roque Eduardo Dela Peña Vega, Deputy Regional Director for Operation, Police Colonel Noel Flores, and Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Police Colonel Hector Maestra.
Atty. Beatrice Aurora Vega-Cancio, Commissioner of the National Police Commission served as the guest speaker of the event.
The awardees were the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office as the Outstanding Police Provincial Office of the Year in Police Community Relation; Cebu City Police Office for being the Outstanding City Police Office of the Year in Police Community Relation, and the Tagbilaran City Police Station as the Outstanding City Police Station of the Year in Police Community Relation. The Cortes Municipal Police Station was also accorded as the Outstanding Municipal Police Station of the Year.
The PCR Month celebration aims to fortify community collaboration in crime deterrence and reduction. It was also geared to secure stronger support from the community for the realization of its mission of providing the people a safer, more peaceful place to live, work, and do business. PCR Month celebration aims to develop closer interaction between the police and the community in handling peace and order concerns. (Jeanette Busano)
