MAYOR Joseph Rañola traveled to the Diocese of Talibon, Bohol on Friday, July 21, 2022, and sought an audience with the Bishop, Most Reverend Patrick Daniel Yee Parcon, with the hope of receiving the final blessing for his proposed faith tourism project.

He was accompanied by the Municipal Administrator Teresa Gina Ranan, Brother Farley Almedilla Meredores, members of the Local Finance Committee, and the Municipal Tourism staff.

The Mayor presented the proposed 50-100-foot-tall statues of the Birhen sa Barangay in Ilihan, San Pedro Calungsod in Malbog, and St. Michael the Archangel and received a positive response from Bishop Parcon.

Brother Farley Almedilla Meredores presented Bishop Parcon with a miniature statue of the Birhen sa Barangay.

Mayor Joseph Rañola intends to push the project forward to boost Jagna’s tourism industry while also strengthening the faith of the Jagnaanons.

A meeting with the Board of Consultors, parish priests, and local religious groups will be scheduled soon to discuss the technical aspects of the proposed project. (PR)
