THE Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) turned over a new ₱4.7-million two-classroom school building to Modesto G. Autida High School on August 21, 2026.
Governor Aris Aumentado led the blessing and turnover ceremony of the newly constructed facility to expand learning spaces for high school students in Barangay Pinamgo, Bien Unido.
Funded by the PGBh, the infrastructure project directly addresses the school’s growing classroom needs while offering learners a more conducive academic environment.
Joining Gov. Aumentado during the event were Representative Maria Vanessa ‘Van-van’ Aumentado, Bien Unido Mayor John Felix Garcia, officials from the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Bohol, representatives from the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO), and local barangay council members.
Furthermore, the construction of the facility highlights the provincial government’s continuous investment in modernizing basic education infrastructure across rural communities throughout the island province.
Expressing his gratitude, Mayor Garcia thanked the provincial government for the project and expressed hope for continued support for development initiatives in Bien Unido.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Aumentado commended the strong collaboration among key government partners while encouraging both students and school administrators to diligently maintain and safeguard the new building.
During his address, Gov. Aumentado emphasized that strategic investments in public education significantly uplift student welfare and open broader avenues for their professional advancement.
In addition, the governor earnestly urged the student body to stay firmly committed to their studies and personal development for a brighter future.
“Ang inyong hunahunaon mao ang inyong kalambuan pinaagi sa pag-eskwela ug tinarong,” Gov. Aumentado emphasized.
Echoing this sentiment, Grade 12 student Manuel Compendio shared that the newly turned-over classrooms have remarkably enhanced their daily learning experience and overall school environment.
“Mas ni-improve ang quality sa education tungod sa bag-o namo nga classroom ug mas nice na ang environment sa eskwelahan” Compendio said.
Consequently, Compendio thanked the PGBh for providing facilities that support students in achieving a better education.
This turn-over activity aligns directly with the Strategic Governance Roadmap 2028 of the Capitol, which prioritizes human capital development through equitable, accessible, and high-quality education.
As the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark, Bohol continuously drives people-centered development projects that empower young learners, foster resilient communities, and ensure long-term regional growth. (PIMO/MAPI)
