THE City Government of Tagbilaran has strengthened its response to the State of National Energy Emergency with the launch of a web-based Crisis Management Monitoring Dashboard, now accessible to the public.
The online platform allows residents to monitor fuel prices from gasoline stations as well as prices of basic goods in markets and malls, providing a more transparent and real-time view of such prices of essential commodities in the city.
This initiative is a collaboration between the City Mayor’s Office – Strategic Communication (StratCom) and the Information and Communication Technology Office, in partnership with FuelWatchPH developer Joel Baluma, a Tagbilaran native.
Accessible via mobile phones, laptops, or desktop computers, the dashboard forms part of the city’s strategy to keep the public informed and empowered during volatile energy conditions.
In a related development, Tagbilran Mayor Jane Yap earlier signed Executive Order No. 2026-19, establishing the Tagbilaran City Crisis Management Committee (TCCMC) to safeguard the local economy and ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services.
Under this framework, the city is implementing key measures such as monitoring the continuous supply of fuel, food, and medicines; ensuring that public transport, utilities, and healthcare services remain fully operational; protecting vulnerable sectors while enforcing fair pricing to prevent profiteering; and promoting long-term solutions, including the transition to renewable energy and electric vehicles.
Mayor Yap emphasized that the initiative is part of the city’s approach to governance, saying the goal is to ensure that “Tagbilaranons are informed, protected, and supported as we navigate the challenges brought by global energy uncertainty.”
She added that the city will continue to act decisively to safeguard both the economy and essential services.
