NOW that the final curtain for this year’s election has come to an end, one thing for sure is- there’s a winner and a loser. But the big question is, have we really moved on? Have we healed our emotional wound being inflicted? Have we played the game fair and square?
Sad to note, others tend to add fuel to a fire, instead of dousing it with serenity and calmness. Majority egg others to be cruel, instead of showing compassion and mercy. And most of us resort to bashing, cursing and name calling to the point of making others feel so dumb and naive because of adhering to their principle.
Unfortunately, many relationships have been marred, affinities have been divided and truths have been distorted. All because of our political differences. Is it hard for us to let the inner peace prevail in our hearts and mind?
Rubbing salt to an aggravated wound, some remain conceited, selfish and inhumane. This election fever reminds us that there’s nothing to show off. We think that we can surpass others because of our undeniable intelligence. We presume that we are the best because we emerge victorious. And, we trample one’s dignity because we let others cower in fear. Wake up! It may sound so cliche but this is the perfect time to spread love not hate.
After all, our country will not progress and will remain dormant if we keep on instilling vengeance to one another, if we keep on mud-slinging to one another and if we keep on barking to each other that ended up in humiliation and pain. Our country is already too chaotic, too noisy and too divided, so stop the flamboyant display or arrogance. Let the burgeoning seed of hope flourish in our Motherland. Let the patriotism be awakened again in every core in our hearts.
Honestly, I humbly say that I’m not one of the 31 million Filipinos who are painting the whole country in red right now because they catapulted someone in power whom they think is the catalyst of change. At least I made a choice that I think is the best answer to the clamor of our people. And, I will never regret it to the rest of my life.
With all my conscience, I casted my vote and I exercised my right. Unfortunately, others did not make it and did not able to survive on that epochal day. And that is something that I must be thankful and grateful for.
Alas! my voice did not resonate enough loud and clear to the whole society. I’m not Toni Gonzaga nor Angel Locsin who has the fame and glory. That’s why I wasn’t able to emerge triumphant. Being defeated doesn’t make me a lesser person but instead it gives me a reason to do something good not just for myself but for the future of my children. And I cling to the last fiber of hope that someday our country will be emancipated from the toxicity and negativity that continue to pull us down. If we have the same mentality, I believe that we are a true WINNER in our own little ways.
Yes, the day of reckoning has come to an end, but the real battle has just begun. So buckle up your seat belts for the twists and turns that lurking behind us. May justice prevail so soon. May the empty stomach be fed. May the less fortunate be given an ample opportunity.
Red, green, pink or blue disregard the color which do you think is dominant and powerful enough. If we combine all these colors then what stronger and united it will be. At the end of the day, the color brown, the color of Juan dela Cruz, will always prevail in our country. Lastly, let’s keep our fingers crossed that we as one can withstand the storms that may come in our lives. Mabuhay tayong lahat!! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!!!
