Tagbilaran city sees, welcomes influx of new businesses

TAGBILARAN’s local economy continues to show strong momentum with the opening of four new business establishments this July 17-19, 2025, further strengthening the city’s profile as a dynamic hub for commerce, services, and tourism.

Representing City Mayor Jane Yap, Congressman John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II led the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the new ventures, which span various industries including insurance, telecommunications, food and beverage, and tourism.

On July 17, 2025 the OTG Coffee Shop officially opened its doors at the Island City Mall (ICM), offering freshly brewed coffee and a variety of pastries for mall-goers and coffee lovers.

The following day, July 18, 2025 saw the launch of two major businesses. Fortune Life Insurance inaugurated its new branch at the YS Building along CPG North Avenue. The company provides a wide array of insurance products to help secure the financial future of Tagbilaran residents.

On the same day, Globe Telecom also opened its Premium Store at ICM, bringing cutting-edge mobile and broadband services, the latest tech devices, and improved customer service to its clients in the city.

Rounding out the week’s business openings was Casa 2455, a private resort villa nestled in Barangay Dampas which officially opened on July 19, 2025.  Casa 2455 offers an exclusive and tranquil staycation experience for families, tourists, and locals seeking a peaceful retreat within the city.

Mayor Jane Yap extended her heartfelt appreciation to the investors and entrepreneurs who chose Tagbilaran as the home of their new ventures. “Thank you for believing in the potential of our city. Your investment speaks volumes of your confidence in our local economy, and the city government stands ready to support you every step of the way,” she said.
