Mayor Yap leads groundbreaking of new 6-classroom building

The project, implemented through the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ (NGCP) corporate social responsibility initiative, underscores the City Government’s commitment to enhancing public education facilities.

THE City Government of Tagbilaran, in partnership with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 25, 2025, for a new two-storey, six-classroom building at the City of Tagbilaran National High School located in barangay Cabawan, Tagbilaran City.

Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap led the ceremony, highlighting the significance of public-private partnerships in enhancing local education.

She expressed gratitude to NGCP for its generous support, saying, “This partnership is a meaningful investment in our youth. With every classroom we build, we open more doors of opportunity for our students.”

The project is part of NGCP’s corporate social responsibility initiative, aiming to improve learning conditions for public school students.

The new building will help alleviate congestion and address the shortage of classrooms at the Cabawan extension campus, which has experienced steady growth in student enrollment.

The initiative aligns with the City Government’s goal of strengthening public school infrastructure and improving access to quality education.

Also in attendance were Tagbilaran City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Wilfreda Bongalos, NGCP Construction Manager Engr. Ian Husain, First District of Bohol Congressman-elect John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II, City Councilors, Department Heads, barangay officials, and officials of the Tagbilaran City Schools Division, all united in their support for the project.
