Tagbilaran holds local governance transition turnover ceremony

THE City Government of Tagbilaran formally held its Local Governance Transition Turnover Ceremony on June 26, 2025 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, in compliance with the directive from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to ensure a smooth, orderly, and transparent continuation of local governance.

The activity was organized as part of the official transition process as Mayor Jane Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Relson Jala enter their second term of office. The ceremony was led by Mayor Yap and joined by Vice Mayor Jala, department and office heads from the city government, as well as heads of national government agencies based in Tagbilaran City.

Among the key highlights of the ceremony were the presentation of the current state of local governance, the ceremonial turnover of important documents, a message from the Mayor, and a collective oath of commitment to public service by city officials and department heads.

In her message, Mayor Yap emphasized the importance of the turnover ceremony in promoting good governance, transparency, and institutional continuity. “This ceremony is a statement that we are prepared for our next term and fully committed to continuing honest, transparent, and people-centered governance,” she said.

The activity reflects the city government’s ongoing efforts to uphold integrity, strengthen public institutions, and deliver even better services to the people of Tagbilaran as it enters a new chapter of leadership and development under the continued administration of Mayor Yap and Vice Mayor Jala.
