On-the-spot senior citizens ID renewal, registration launched

TAGBILARAN City has officially launched the on-the-spot renewal and new application for Senior Citizens ID at Island City Mall (ICM) beginning January 14, 2025.

The initiative, scheduled per barangay, kicked off this week with Barangay Dampas senior citizens as the first to be accommodated.

This innovative program ensures that IDs are printed and distributed immediately upon registration, providing convenience and efficiency for the city’s senior residents.

Mayor Jane Yap emphasized that this initiative is part of the city’s ongoing digitalization program, which aims to streamline services and make them more accessible to the public.

“Very soon, we will also roll out the Tagbilaran Citizens ID in partnership with GCash, further integrating digital technology into our services to provide more benefits for our residents,” the Mayor shared.

The mall-based registration aims to provide a comfortable and organized process for Tagbilaran’s 14,000 senior citizens.

Participants are treated to a free cup of coffee while they wait, a gesture of appreciation for the city’s beloved elders.

The initiative is made possible through the collaboration of various city offices, including the City Events and Cultural Events Office, City Mayor’s Office, City Information and Technology Office, City General Services Office, and the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs.

Mayor Yap also extended her gratitude to the Alturas Group of companies for providing the venue of the activity and to all Senior Citizens’ Presidents of Tagbilaran for their support in ensuring a smooth registration process.

Senior citizens are encouraged to check their barangay schedules for the registration dates, which will be announced soon.

This program not only enhances service delivery but also underscores the city government’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its senior citizens.
