No to vote-buying, says v-guv hopeful

ABELLA

AN ASPIRANT for vice-governor in the 2025 elections has bared his platform of governance once he is elected into the said position.

Mr. Santos “Cris” Abella, a farmer by profession in Dagohoy town, said in an interview he is eyeing for the second highest post of the province.

He filed his certificate of candidacy before the Commission on Elections provincial office on Thursday.

Asked why he opted to run for vice-governor, he told media “in jest or truthfully” that he’s already in his last term in running for provincial board member nine years ago. But no single term that he was elected to the said position.

But originally, Abella plans to throw his hat into senatorial race, only that he has no money to go to Manila to file his COC for senator.

And one of his advocacies is that he wants to end the vote-buying that has been proliferating and become an irrational culture. And, as if to show he’s serious, he said, he won’t do vote-buying.

“Ibaba ang presyo ng bigas at gasolina. Magtatayo tayo ng skywalk para sa turismo ng Bohol,” he said.

In media interview, Abella filed his Certificate of Candidacy for Bohol Vice Governor on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 3, 2024.

In his COC, Abella said he is a broadcaster from Dagohoy town.

He also met his opponent Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Bohol president Nick Besas during the COC filing of Abante.

In filing of his candidacy probably stemmed from his good motive to serve when he quoted GMA 7’s tagline “Serbisyong walang kinikilingan, walang pinoprotektahan, serbisyong totoo lamang.” (rvo)
