REELECTIONISTS and aspirants alike under the umbrella of Team Abante with Gov. Aris Aumentado at the helm led his candidates in filing their respective certificates of candidacy (COC) before the Elections provincial office on Thursday.
This came as most mayors and other officials affiliated with Lakas-CMD have not filed yet their COCs as of this writing for the absence of their certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) from Manila.
Gov. Aumentado filed first his COC. Congresswoman Vanessa Aumentado, (2nd dist) his wife and Congw. Alexie B. Tutor (3rd dist) and PCL president Nick Besas (for vice-gov), followed.
Completing his line-up, first district reelectionist Board Member Lucille Lagunay, and comebacking Goldie Herrera and Willy Ramasola; 2nd district reelectionists BMs Atty. Tommy Abapo and Atty. Jamie Villamor and newcomer last termer CPG mayor Mayor Fernando “Eping” Estavilla, the concurrent League of Municipalities Bohol chapter president.
3rd district reelectionists for BM Vice-Gov Tita V. Baja, Greg Jala and Nathaniel Binlod and DJ Balite, son of then and the late Vice-Gov. Victor A. Balite.
The much awaited first district hopeful for congressman, Tagbilaran ex-mayor Baba Yap was no show during the COC filing since he has yet a CONA.
Baba Yap is said to run under Team Abante. But if he cannot produce his CONA in filing his COC, the Comelec may consider him as “independent.”
Meanwhile, G-Hernandez Mayor Jess Baja said in his fb post that they strongly support Aumentado’s leadership that advances the programs of good governance.
He said strengthening the programs and projects, like infrastructure, medical care, opportunity in livelihood and environmental protection/preservation for the benefit of the Boholanos in general.
HE said that Abante’s leaders are committed to throw support and ready to face challenges that come along the way.
The mayor accompanied her sister, incumbent vice-Gov Tita V. Baja, who filed her COC for reelection as Board Member in 3rd district. (rvo)
