Making the Impossible Possible
(Mental Health Management Protocol)

SCHOOL administrators come and go. As a school leader, it is expected that one will be transferred from one station to another. Union National High School was provided with a full-fledged school head in the person of Mr. Junvic Handugan. He was once a secondary school teacher from Bulilis National High School, Ubay 3 District, who rose from the ranks and is now a full-fledged school administrator.

Ubay 2 District school administrators and Union National High School welcomed Mr. Handugan. An installation program was prepared for him. Mrs. Mirasol L. Bucio led in the singing of hymns, and opening prayer was given by Mr. Ramil U. Rosales. In his welcome address, PTA Federated President Junebern B. Meyor expressed his full support for all school programs, projects, and activities. PSDS Ma. Maya V. Tumalon PhD, MDM read the assignment order and the official installation of Mr. Handugan.

As one of the admired traditions of Ubay districts, Ubay 1 District school administrators led by PSDS Zenaida L. Boyles PhD., joined the said installation ceremony. Among the school leaders from Ubay 1 District were SSPs Rosalinda G. Butcon, Joelita C. Salmasan, Delilah C. Atup, Rogelio Duran, and Medardo Mahumot.  The outgoing Officer-in-charge, Master Teachers Rochelle B. Impang expressed her words of gratitude for all the support extended by her colleagues while managing the said school for months, after the retirement of SSP Elsa E. Boyles. Mr. Handugan showed enthusiasm for his new assignment during his acceptance speech.

Another highlight of the said ceremony was the outgoing speech of Mr. Melencio D. Bucio Jr., one of the teachers of UNHS, whose new assignment is to lead the newly opened Tintinan Integrated School, with SIC Mhel A. Mendez.

If in coffee there is three-in-one, in DepEd, there is more-in-one. Since October 5, 2024 was scheduled for the Municipal Meet, Teachers’ Day Culmination for the said school was also celebrated on this day. The theme for World Teacher’s Day 2024 is “Valuing Teacher Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education”. This theme focuses on the importance of listening to teachers and involving them in shaping educational policies and practices. Communities, parents, and students express their gratitude to educators on World Teachers’ Day for their dedication, hard work, and beneficial impact on students’ lives and society at large.

World Teachers’ Day aims to focus on “appreciating, assessing and improving the educators of the world” and to provide an opportunity to consider issues related to teachers and teaching. Another important concern that teachers and school administrators in the Ubay Districts is the preparation of the Municipal Meet to be held on October 5, 2024. The host district in this year’s municipal meet is Ubay 1 District.

Who says DepEd is not fond of multitasking concepts? DepEd personnel makes impossible, possible.
