THE City Government of Tagbilaran conducted a comprehensive Gugma sa Tagbilaran Libreng Mobile Services event in San Isidro Urban Poor Association on September 6, 2024.

Gugma sa Tagbilaran Libreng Mobile Services, a flagship program initiated by Mayor Jane Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala, aims to deliver various free services to all barangays, puroks, and communities within the city.

The program offers a wide range of services, including medical and dental check-ups, legal consultations, civil registration, and other essential government services. By deploying mobile service units directly to different barangays, the city government ensures that residents, particularly those in remote or underserved areas, can access these vital services without the need to travel far.

During the event, a dedicated team of city government employees and volunteers provided an array of services to the residents of Barangay San Isidro.

The City Mobile Health Clinic offered various medical services, including general consultations, ultrasound tests, cardiac panels, ECGs, blood typing, X-rays, and complete blood counts (CBC). The Mobile Dental Bus was also present, providing dental consultations and extractions, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services were available to all attendees.

The event also featured the “Basura sa Barangay” program, which allowed residents to exchange plastic bottles for rice. This initiative encourages recycling and promotes environmental awareness. Residents could exchange specific quantities of plastic bottles for a kilo of rice, with varying numbers required depending on the size of the bottles. This innovative program not only helped reduce plastic waste but also provided a tangible benefit to the community.

In addition to healthcare and environmental initiatives, the event offered a wide range of other services. These included legal assistance, late registration of live births, petitions for corrections of clerical errors in registry documents, on-site registration for the National ID, Senior Citizen, PWD, and ALS programs, distribution of vegetable seeds, rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats, free haircuts and massages, and free hair coloring for senior citizens. Hot meals, provided in partnership with the DIWA Partylist, were also served to all attendees, ensuring a holistic approach to community care.

The mobile services event was warmly received by the residents of Barangay San Isidro who expressed their gratitude for the city government’s efforts to bring essential services directly to their community. Many residents took advantage of the opportunity to access multiple services in one convenient location, underscoring the program’s positive impact on the lives of Tagbilaranons.

Mayor Jane Yap praised the efforts of everyone involved in organizing the event, emphasizing the importance of making government services accessible to all citizens. “Through initiatives like the Gugma sa Tagbilaran Libreng Mobile Services, we are able to provide vital services to our residents, especially those who may face difficulties accessing them. Our goal is to ensure that every citizen of Tagbilaran can receive the support they need, regardless of where they live,” she stated.

This initiative exemplifies the city government’s commitment to enhancing public service delivery by improving accessibility and convenience for its people.
