Trinidad marks 77 years, Sept. 1 as a vibrant town

THE municipality of Trinidad celebrates today its 77th foundation day with a lot of fanfare and activities since four days ago with the opening salvo of “Tabo sa Ipil” on August 18, 2024.

Ipil is said to be the original name of the town as it also refers to its longest river that traverse the town.

In this particular activity, Mayor Atty. Roberto C. Cajes led the said activity along with his first lady and former mayor Judith D. Cajes, anniversary committee chairperson Joan Robie C. Imboy, legal counsel Atty. Jennie Cabading. Vendors association president Alex Merontos, municipal administrator Brian Tinio and other officials attending.

This year’s theme dubbed, “Breaking Barriers as Unified Trinidad,” apparently highlights that the people of Trinidad are united.

Today’s activity will be the awarding of prizes and certificates to winners of the Tanod Drill competition and the Best Booth contest during the Agri-Fair exhibits held the other day.

The anniversary program will open at 10 in the morning with acknowledgment of contingents at the food park by program chair Dr. Ariel Rosales.

Expected to grace the affair is Vice-Gov. Tita V. Baja as the guest speaker, who is expected to deliver a message of inspiration and hope.

She is to be introduced by Mayor Cajes and assisted by Vice-Mayor Erio after the awarding portion of the program.

Councilor Joan Robie Cajes is set to welcome VIPs, spectators and visitors to the program.

After the speech of the guest speaker, Vice-Mayor Erio is to give the closing remarks. (rvo)
