WORLD Vision Development Foundation Inc, and as a Christian development, advocacy and relief organization. The collaboration with the different partners has been a meaningful and effective approach to addressing child well-being issues in the community. (World Vision Communication). The World Vision Program In-charge for Bohol NE, Joan B. Ocdol informed the office of the three public schools district supervisors; in the conduct of an annual community review and planning at Kiddies Farm, Calangaman, Ubay, Bohol on August 15-16, 2024.
WV country strategy refreshed consultation with the community, focused more on education with livelihood, and child protection concepts. The output of the said two-day activities will be considered as part of the basis for renewing technical programs of World Vision.
The activity was represented by the different sectors in the municipality; from the Philippine National Police, the Department of Social Services, the Department of Education, youth leaders, local government officials, and other non-government organizations. In one session, the participants were asked to answer the following questions:
- What are the current issues and problems being experienced by children in the community?
- What are the good things that WVDF is doing/has done to help in improving the well-being of children in your community.
- What are the things that WVDF needs to improve so that it can significantly help in improving the well-being in your community?
- What are your suggestions to WVDF for their next Strategy and Program?
All the participants actively responded to the items presented.
The projects and activities were also provided with the following ratings by the participants: emerging, growing, and maturing. All items were identified as maturing. One of the highlights of the said gathering was awarding a Certificate of Recognition to the project proponent of Project CoWTELS (Catechism on Wheels to Enhance Literacy Skills. This project aimed at enhancing the learners’ values, attitudes, and beliefs in the Divine Intervention in addressing personal issues, while improving reading skills among learners. The project started at Union Elementary School with ESP Letecia P. Reloba, and Nimfa D. Canete, the designated project owner and implementer.
