Mabini holds public hearing on proposed mun. ordinances

THE town of Mabini, Bohol thru the Sangguniang Bayan conducted a public hearing as a way getting the pulse of the townsfolk on ordinances concerning security, regulating gambling and providing an atmosphere for investment and other concerns, according to facebook post of Mayor Ongie Grace Bernales-Lim.

Mayor Lim and Vice-Mayor Myra F. Colis led the Sangguniang Bayan and office chiefs in said public hearing and consultation held at the town’s Alejandro Cadigal session hall on August 7, 2024.

“Isip usa ka paagi sa pagtigom sa mga opinyon ug paghatag ug higayon sa mga miyembro sa publiko sa pagpahayag sa ilang mga panglantaw, opinyon, ug mga kabalaka sa usa ka isyu o gisugyot nga aksyon, gikinahanglan ang pagpahigayon ug public hearing,” the mayor said.

(The public hearing is held as a way of getting opinion and to give an opportunity for the public to express their opinion, suggestions and other issues affecting the general welfare of the townsfolk.)

The public hearing tackled the Municipal Ordinance No. 2024-08, entitled, “An ordinance mandating business establishments operating within the territorial jurisdiction of Mabini, Bohol to install and maintain a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system.” It is apparently intended for security purposes.

Other proposed Municipal Ordinances are the following: Mn. Ordinance No. 2024-01 “An ordinance regulating cockfighting, the establishment, operation and maintenance of cockpits and the breeding of gamecocks in the Municipality of Mabini.”

Mun. Ordinance No. 2024-02, “An ordinance enacting the investment incentive code of the Municipality of Mabini and prescribing penalties for violations thereof.”

Mun. Ordinance No. 2024-04, “An ordinance imposing rental and fixing the rates on the use of heavy and construction equipment owned by the Municipality of Mabini.”

Mun. Ordinance No. 2024-05, “An ordinance providing for the local policy in preventing teenage pregnancies, institutionalizing social protection for teenage parents, and providing funds thereof.”

And Mun. Ordinance No. 2024-06, “An ordinance requiring all elective and appointive municipal officials and contractual and job orders employees, elective and appointive barangay officials and all DepEd Administrators and teachers of the Municipality of Mabini to undergo medical examination and submit a medical certificate.” (rvo)
