An infirmary, like a hospital, is mainly focused on the prevention and cure of the sick, infirmary head Dr. Remedios Teves in an exclusive interview.

The health facility is served by 25 personnel with three doctors of medicine, including Teves, and 11 nurses and other servants.

The infirmary includes the 6-bed birthing facility that serves an average of 120 every year.

The infirmary is funded locally and it caters the out-patient, laboratory for CBC, rapid antigen.

The building construction located beside the town’s gym is provided by the Banco De Oro foundation thru a Memorandum of Agreement with counterpart fund from the local government here and the provincial government. And the municipality provided the furnishings and other needs in equipment, Deligero said.

The health facility initiated by the LGU here is considered an economic enterprise, he said.

The infirmary task is to serve the over 20,000 people here, Deligero said. (rvo)
