BOHOL Loop 2024 is some kind of wobbly ‘motourism’ event aimed at promoting Bohol tourism, promoting road safety and enjoying the ride.
But that’s not always the case as at least four vehicular accidents involving loop riders transpired in separate places in early morning and past 10 in the morning and 12 p.m. on March 23. But no one was reported died.
A certain loop participant identified only in his number ‘948,’ police said, was brought to Gov. Celestino Gallares Medical Center for treatment after he met an accident at 6:55 a.m. The said mishap was said to be a “solo accident” when the rider lost control of his NMAX155, grey-black with plate No. 136LYY when he tried to take photos of his co-riders upon reaching Clarin bridge, Villalimpia, Laoy, Bohol.
In Jagna town, rider Selwin Besario from Cebu City lost control and crashed his motorcycle he was driving upon reaching the blind curve in coastal barangay Larapan of said town at 7:40 a.m. He was then brought to Cong. Teodoro Galagar Memorial hospital for treatment.
The third one took place in Poblacion, Sikatuna town at 10:45 a.m. a certain Anamarie Tasic of legal age, resident of Badiang, Sikatuna was driving her Kawasaki fury color black plate NO. 4820QR was accidentally hit by the railing loop rider, identified as Sussette Casia Lacanaria with her Ninja color black with plate no. L880CB. Both Tasic and Lacanaria were heading to Tagbilaran city.
“Unfortunately, Tasic suddenly maneuvered to the left direction and thereby was accidentally hit by Lacanaria, who was traveling from behind. Due to the impact, both riders crashed down onto the cemented road. Both parties involved have suffered major injuries to different parts of their bodies.”
A registered loop rider Joseph Eric Palma Jadraque, 21 years old, male, single, student resident of Tiptip, Tagbilaran City, Bohol accidentally bumped into a four-wheel vehicle in Sitio Pangas, Candabong, Loboc, Bohol at 12:25pm. He’s a holder of non-prof DL no. GO3-22-000205 with expiry date Nov. 14, 2026. He suffered bruises on his left knee and lower extremities of his left foot.
Florande Pregunta y Sefuentes, 45 years old, male, married and resident of Ubayon, Loon, Bohol holder of DL number Go3-16-000327 expiry Feb.16, 2033 drove his Toyota Hi-Commuter color white with plate number EH448A when the accident happened. The vehicle was damaged on its back left rear tire cover, scratches and dented on left side. (rvo)
