BOHOL tourism key players must now find ways to make Bohol more magnetic to visitors.
Congresswoman Kristine Alexie B. Tutor has pushed for what she called rebranding Bohol’s allure in tourism, not just contented with they have.
“As to Bohol, we need to rebrand our tourism, explore more areas & offer unique destinations. Let us not dwell on what we usually have,” she said.
Tutor represented Bohol and Philippines in traveling Madrid, Spain to join the Philippines joined the FITUR & Madrid Fusion 2024.
“FITUR | Madrid International Tourism Trade Fair is the 1st global meeting point of the year for tourism professionals,” she said in her facebook post.
This what she said, “Madrid Fusion is claimed to be the world’s most influential gastronomy summit.”
She was with the select House Committee on Tourism Members and “we also met with Ambassador Philippe Jones Lhuillier, very kind hearted diplomat loved by the Filipinos in Madrid.
We also got the chance to meet with Morocco Ambassador Leslie Baja. Morocco is visa-free to Filipinos.”
She added, “I learned a lot with the cultural & gastronomic tourism here. As to Bohol, we need to rebrand our tourism, explore more areas & offer unique destinations. We need to give a major emphasis that we are recognized by UNESCO as a geopark, the 1st in the entire country. We need to entice back tourists to visit Bohol again. Let us not dwell on what we usually have. We have to think beyond the box or else we will be left behind by our Asian country neighbors & our neighboring provinces.”
Meanwhile, she just laughed off bashers that she is on world tour. She countered that traveling and promoting Bohol are educational.
“You know what, when you travel, you learn more. How can we help our province if we just stay put & be content on what we have. On the other hand, when you go out, all the discovery, learnings & realizations can help to put our visions into action to be in line with what the world is offering.” (ricobedencio@yahoo.com)
