Kag. Nick Besas bats for “transparency” in PCL

COUNCILOR Nick Besas of Tagbilaran City bared that he will pursue transparency in all official transactions of the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) Bohol chapter.

This he issued to media interview right after his oath-taking before Gov. Aris Aumentado as new president of the PCL chapter.

He will sit as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol vice San Isidro councilor Gloria B. Gementiza, who ended her stint in last week’s session of provincial board presided over by Vice-Gov. Victor A. Balite.

The oath-taking was witnessed by his wife, Pamela, along with his children Kag. Gian & Glai Besas, Nicolai & Michelle with Cousins DuEkSam Pres. Carl Ryan Lim and wife Twinkle Besas-Lim.

Besas, the brother of City Kagawad Pepot Besas, is the father of Candijay-based Congw. Alexie Besas-Tutor of 3rd District.

The change of guard in PCL Bohol to represent the league in the provincial board was agreed upon thru term-sharing, but others called it “power-sharing.”

Besas’ transparency policy was prompted after media query that long before PCL finances was reportedly in limbo. Reports said that there was no transparency in public accounting of the league’s funds in previous administrations.

PCL Bohol has a total of 482 members comprising 10 kagawads each of the 47 towns and 12 councilors in the city. (ricobedncio@yahoo.com)
