Valencia rolls out AICS payout

ONE of the priority programs of the local government of Valencia is the assistance for the recovery of the underprivileged sector of the municipality. Valencia is grateful for the aid from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in helping out the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crisis such as illness or death of a family member, and other crisis situations.

As a 4th class Municipality with an increasing destitute and disadvantaged sector, waiting for national agencies for help is not an option. People who say nothing can be done may be practical, but those who take chances are exceptional.

Through the efforts of Mayor Dionisio Neil A. Balite, Ph.D in his persistent measures seeking the aid of the benevolent Senators to aid the LGU funding for AICS, Valencia is again blessed to help ten (10) students for the Educational Assistance sum worth P40,000; thirty six (36) beneficiaries for the Medical Assistance with sum worth P115,058; six (6) beneficiaries of burial or funeral assistance sum worth P59,340; and two (2) beneficiaries of Mortuary Assistance sum worth P4,000 during the mass payout conducted last January 22, 2023 at the Valencia Astrodome.  The turn-over was held contemporaneously along with the Monthly Convocation of the Local Government of Valencia facilitated and sponsored by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Ms. Mary Grace Lim, RSW.

Valencia has successfully assisted a total of fifty-five (55) beneficiaries for Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) with a sum total of P218,398.00 for the month of January 2024 per se.

This undertaking is a temporary relief for the underprivileged, however, help is always a blessing and relief no matter in any form and ways.

The town is indeed blessed to have a leader who cares and takes action relentlessly despite the criticism from detractors. A true leader doesn’t let unfavorable opinion stops him. Action and results are far more exceptional, worth every time and effort spent as a response to critics. A true servant leader works humbly and celebrates triumph with his people, evident to the smiles of the beneficiaries.

Mayor Neil has been consistent on his dedication in helping those in need and serving the Valencia and with God’s graces.  All endeavors were successful and still aiming for a Better, Affectionate, Responsive and Unifying Governance. Barug Valencia! You deserve more. (Vanessa Coronel)
