Reward centenarians over 100-year
old with more money – BM Abapo

BM ABAPO

PROVINCIAL Board Member Atty. Tomas D. Abapo, Jr. of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol has proposed for the additional monetary reward to centennials who are over 100 years old.

“If we give monetary consideration to 100 years old, how much more for a hundred and over years old? So, I suggest, Mr. Chairman, that we bring this matter to the executive branch so that we may receive any recommendation from the LFC on this matter,” Abapo told his colleagues during the recent session of the board.

He acknowledged that the provincial government has already appropriated ₱100,000.00 for each those who reached 100 years of existence.

“There was a note that triggered me during the pre-session that if they are given monetary consideration because they have reached 100 years old, how about if they are still alive one year later, 101 years old, two years later, 102 years old,” Abapo added.

This cam prior to approval of the Resolution No. 2024-004, “Congratulating the herein mentioned qualified centenarians per Provincial Ordinance No. 2022-003 Section 6, Item No. 2. The said Resolution is sponsored by BMs Aldner R. Damalerio; and co-sponsored by Presiding Officer Pro Tempore, BM Venzencio B. Arcamo.
