MUPh Bohol picks Darling of the Press

THE Miss Universe Philippines-Bohol has chosen three bets for Darling of the Press among the 19 candidates for Miss Universe Philippines-Bohol during the press presentation held at the activity center in Island City Mall last week.

It was expected the winner of Darling of the Press award will soon be announced but the organizers did not say when.

The three lucky Darling of the Press bets are: Carla Mae Telmo a Badjao descendant and a registered nurse from Dauis town; Multi-awarded beauty Bianca Gaviola of Tagbilaran City; and Christine Esacanilla of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia island town.

The three Darling of the Press bets were selected by vloggers/bloggers and media practitioners, including this writer but was not able to vote for he was not informed the media should vote as there was no mechanics presented or instruction.

The media were given time to throw queries to the candidates who voiced their respective advocacies in life and of public concern, like the environment.

Aside from the three, other hopefuls include the following: Christina Maria Schott, Kimberley Arbutante and Jonalinda Bodiongan, all of Panglao; Quennie Claire Castrodes, Richiel Mae Galvadores and Irene Faye Esmolada, all of Candijay; Ethel Jay Batoon, Trinidad; Juliene Pedros, Loon; Stephanie Ann Sumagaysay, Antequera; Crisha Marie Tungal, Catigbian; Kiara Camelle Rosales, Ubay;  Maria Patricia Ayop, Mabini; Ma. Isabel Pabas, Calape; Sophia Abegail Socias, Loboc; Janice Cuajao, Baclayon; and Jana Stephanie Sabijon, Baclayon.

MUPh has changed the rules in selecting the beauty candidates. It set aside the age limit and married or single moms are welcome to the pageant. (ricobedencio@yahoo.com)
