COVID-19 cash aid applications closed: CASH AID NO MORE?

SEC BELLO

THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced yesterday the closure of the agency’s COVID-19 cash aid program.

In an advisory, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said they stopped accepting applications for the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program or CAMP 3 on March 4.

CAMP is a one-time P5,000 aid to workers in the private sector affected by the declaration of Alert Level 3 or higher.

But should Alert Level 3 be reimposed, DOLE will again accept applications for CAMP 3 assistance anew.

DOLE, however, shall continue to process and evaluate all applications received before the system’s closure. Applicants with submitted applications may track the status of their application on https://reports.dole.gov.ph/track_application.

As of March 6, DOLE has approved the CAMP 3 application of 29,973 workers.

The National Capital Region accounted for the most applicants at 58,008 or 35 percent, followed by Calabarzon with 18,935 or 11 percent and Central Luzon with 17,024 or 10 percent.

The CAMP 3 program was launched in January to help workers who were retrenched or otherwise affected by the closure of businesses in areas where Alert Level 3 or higher was implemented. (Sheila Crisostomo/ PhilStar)
