IN a remarkable achievement, the Municipality of Valencia in Bohol has proudly earned a 100% final score in the 2022 Peace and Order Council (POC) Performance Audit. This outstanding achievement was officially announced on September 19, 2023, by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of Region VII.
The DILG assessment revealed that only 9 municipalities and the city of Tagbilaran in the province of Bohol managed to attain a perfect final average. Joining the Municipality of Valencia in this esteemed ranking were Balilihan, Dimiao, Loboc, Maribojoc, Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Lila, Sikatuna, and Ubay.
The 2022 Peace and Order Council Performance Audit, as outlined in DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-066, aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of regional, provincial, city, and municipal POCs as essential platforms in promoting peace, order, and public safety activities.
This comprehensive audit extended its assessment to all levels of government, encompassing 17 Regional POCs, 81 Provincial POCs, 145 City POCs, and 1,489 Municipal POCs. The evaluation process involved the meticulous review of submitted means of verification (MOVs) to ensure the council’s active contribution to maintaining peace and security in their respective areas.
Valencia’s remarkable achievement in obtaining a perfect score not only reflects the dedication and commitment of the local government but also sets a high standard for other municipalities in the region. The flawless performance in the 2022 POC Performance Audit showcases Valencia’s unwavering commitment to fostering a safe and peaceful environment for its residents.
